Everything Your Gums Need for Perfect Health and Comfort

Did you know that when your gums aren’t healthy, your whole body is at risk for medical complications and conditions?

Fact is, if you are harboring an infection in your gums, something we refer to as periodontal disease, it could be affecting much more than your teeth. Gum infections have been linked to many problems including inflammation, worsened fibromyalgia, cancer, strokes, heart attacks, lung disease and low birth weight infants.

Our goal is to get your gums back to superior shape and keep them that way.

Helping You Achieve Optimal Health

Every service we offer is tailored to meet your specific needs. Whether it is one or multiple dental implants, bone regeneration, or simple periodontal therapy, we take care of you as if you were a member of our own family. We offer you our best care every time. And since Dr. Lanman is an artist at heart, you can also be sure that your smile will look as good as it feels after your treatments. And of course, when your treatments with us are completed, we will refer you back to your family dentist.

Gingival (Gum) Disease Treatment

We offer a full range of gum disease treatments, from non-surgical scaling, root planning with antibiotic treatment, to more advanced gingival resective surgery to correct bone and soft tissue. These procedures remove gum pockets and facilitate gum reattachment. Because Dr. Lanman specializes in periodontal treatments and surgeries, you can be sure that his touch is extra skilled and gentle. Don’t forget, we offer both oral and IV sedation for relaxation and pain management.

Implant Placement

Implants are one of the most effective and comfortable ways to replace missing teeth. Because implants integrate with the bone they are placed into, they create a naturally strong and stable foundation for implant crowns or implant-supported dentures. Dental implants also support the bone mass, preventing bone loss. Both individual dental implants and implant-supported dentures are more secure and comfortable than other options so you can enjoy eating, laughing and speaking with total confidence. If you have considered the possibility of a dental implant, talk to your dentist about referring you to Dr. Ryan Lanman or call 405-840-2834 for more information.Dr. Lanman’s knowledge and experience on implant placement is so advanced and so impressive that he teaches continuing education courses on implantology. Your dentist might have even studied with him!

Soft Tissue Grafts

If you have had severe gum disease and your gums have receded to expose your tooth roots, you know how painful and unattractive it can be – not to mention unhealthy for your teeth! Dr. Lanman uses the latest techniques in soft tissue grafting to rebuild the lost gum tissue and help your gums heal and reattach to the bone under them. In fact, our soft tissue grafts can keep your gums from further recession and bone loss and protect your tooth roots from decay

Removals

Do you have a tooth that is severely decayed, broken or damaged beyond repair? Do you have advanced periodontal disease? Do you have poorly positioned, impacted teeth? If your dentist has determined that you need to have a tooth extracted, Dr. Ryan Lanman is a great choice for completion of the procedure. His gentle touch and precision performance will have you through your extraction quickly and painlessly. If you have been referred to us for an extraction, talk to us about the possibility of tooth replacement with dental implants. The implant replaces the root where the tooth has been extracted and then has an implant crown secured to replace the missing tooth

Crown Lengthening

When you smile into the mirror, what do you see? Do you see big, beautiful teeth or do you see gums, gums and more gums? If your teeth are covered by too much gum tissue, they can look short and dull. Dr. Lanman can correct your gummy smile easily and comfortably with crown lengthening, a procedure that gently removes excess gum tissue so more of your own beautiful smile shows.

Ridge & Sinus Guided Bone Regeneration

Have you decided you would finally like to get rid of your dentures or your bridge and enjoy the freedom and comfort of a dental implant… but your dentist is concerned that you may have lost too much bone structure for a successful implant placement? We can help. Dr. Lanman offers guided bone regeneration to actually regrow bone where it has been lost to stabilize and augment the bone and increase your implant placement success rate.

Canine Exposure

Most teeth just seem to appear as if by magic. But sometimes they don’t. They are there, growing, but never erupt from the gum! This is especially a problem, especially when the tooth is a canine. When canines become impacted, your dentist must make a decision about that to do with it. If it is not addressed, it can cause damage to the roots of neighboring teeth resulting in tooth loss and other medical and cosmetic problems. We can help with a careful and gentle canine exposure. These exposures are usually performed in conjunction with an orthodontist. We simply remove the tissue covering the tooth, and with the help of orthodonture, move it gently into its correct position.

Frenectomy

Occasionally the fold of tissue that connect your lips, cheek, or tongue to the jawbone can be too tight or restrictive and cause problems such as speech impediment, difficulty nursing in babies and gaps between teeth or difficulty with denture fit and comfort. When this occurs, a simple frenectomy can be completed, comfortably and under anesthesia to release the tension and allow freedom of movement.

Sedation Dentistry

Sometimes the idea of periodontal therapy makes people a little nervous. Don’t worry – we can help you rest and relax, even snooze, through any treatment, from extractions to tissue grafting.

Our atmosphere is soothing, our staff warm and caring and, best of all, we offer a full range of sedation dentistry options such as:

Nitrous Oxide

Nitrous Oxide, more commonly called Laughing Gas, offers a slight feeling of euphoria and takes effect very quickly. We can easily regulate the amount administered, and as soon as the gas is turned off, you’ll start waking right up again. We give you some pure oxygen to breathe and before you know it, you’ll feel as alert as when you came in.

Oral Conscious Sedation

This sedation starts with the prescription of a small pill before your appointment. Because this medication causes drowsiness, a driver to and from your appointment is necessary. Once you arrive, settle in to the chair with a blanket and soothing music, and drift away. Someone is with you, monitoring your well being, at all times.

IV Sedation

IV sedation is the deepest level of sedation and allows you to sleep through any procedure as if you were in your own bed. Because it is administered directly into your bloodstream and constantly monitored, your level of sedation can be completely customized to meet your needs. In other words, if you are not resting fully or find yourself at all uncomfortable, we can increase your medication on the spot. The effect is immediate. Sedation dentistry works so well, not only because it reduces anxiety and pain, but also because it helps your muscles relax and dental anesthetics work better on a relaxed body.

Referring You Back to Your Family Dentist
Dr. Lanman will return you back to your family dentist after he feels you have reached stable oral health. Because your periodontal care is managed jointly with your family dentist, Dr. Lanman will always refer you back to them once your treatment(s) have been completed. And while we love every patient, we think it is just as important for them to get great care from a dentist specializing in general dentistry as it is for them to see a periodontal specialist. We always work with your doctor, keeping him or her up to date on your progress and what might be needed for follow up care.
